**Hull, UK -** Orchard Park Estate is set to host a lively community event this Friday, September 20th, marking the completion of Shaw Park’s refurbishment and highlighting opportunities for local youth. The event, organized by Hull City Council and Humberside Police, will feature a variety of activities, including sports, interactive programs, and live demonstrations from emergency services.

The event aims to address the challenges faced by young people in the community by promoting positive opportunities and support. This celebration is part of the “Clear-Hold-Build” project, operating under the HOPE brand, which aims to combat organized crime in Orchard Park through community engagement, partnership, and targeted initiatives.

Attendees can expect a range of activities, including:

* **Live and VR Demonstrations:** Emergency services will showcase dangerous driving scenarios and rescue techniques using the “jaws of life.”
* **Forces Recruitment:** Fitness tests and tug-of-war will be hosted by recruitment services from various forces.
* **Sports and Activities:** Hull FC, Hull Kingston Rovers, and Tigers Trust will provide sports and activities.
* **First Aid Skills and Lifestyle Advice:** Attendees can learn first aid skills and receive advice on healthy lifestyles, including information on alcohol and drug use.
* **Career Opportunities:** The event will offer information on apprenticeships, cadetships, and career advice.

“There is a wealth of activities for young people to enjoy at this event,” said Cllr Linda Tock, Portfolio Holder for Children, Young People, Families and Learning. “It celebrates where we are now, while also helping pave the way for a bright future for young people.”

Community Policing Inspector Jamie Campbell expressed his gratitude for the community’s involvement, saying, “The estate has flourished in the last twelve months, and that’s thanks to local community members, businesses, and Hull City Council.” He highlighted the importance of engaging with the community to understand their needs and provide resources that can help steer young people away from crime.

The event will take place at Shaw Park, Hall Road, Orchard Park, from 3pm to 7pm on Friday, September 20th.
