**Le Castellet, France** – Yoshimura SERT Motul emerged victorious from the grueling 2024 Bol d’Or 24-hour race, securing their second win of the season and reclaiming the FIM Endurance World Championship title. This marks Suzuki’s 21st world championship in the discipline, solidifying its position as the most successful brand in the Endurance World Championship.
The team, led by riders Gregg Black, Etienne Masson, and Dan Linfoot, entered the final round of the championship in second place, just six points behind the leader. A strategic race plan and consistent performance saw them take the lead at the 8th hour and maintain a dominant position throughout the night. Masson ultimately crossed the finish line with a commanding seven-lap lead after a record-breaking 737 laps of the Paul Ricard circuit.
The team’s success was built on a combination of factors: a meticulously prepared Suzuki GSX-R1000R, a strong team strategy, and the unwavering commitment of each rider. Black’s impressive start, Masson’s steady pace, and Linfoot’s consistent performance ensured the team remained in contention throughout the 24 hours.
The victory at the Bol d’Or, coupled with earlier podium finishes at Le Mans, Spa, and Suzuka, secured the championship title for Yoshimura SERT Motul.
“This victory has a special meaning for me,” said Masson, referring to his return from injury. “I fought hard, and I wanted to play my part and stay with my team-mates right to the end.”
The team’s Manager, Sadao Taira, expressed his pride in the effort put in by everyone involved. “We all had an excellent feeling on the bike. I also had good team-mates to rely on. Nobody weakened. We all form a very strong team and we showed that once again with a win and the title at the same time.”
The win marks a remarkable achievement for Yoshimura SERT Motul, highlighting the team’s dedication, talent, and the enduring legacy of Suzuki in endurance racing.
