**New York, NY** – A new documentary, “Watergate’s Secrets and Betrayals,” claims that former President Richard Nixon was unfairly forced out of office in 1974, alleging that the Watergate scandal was weaponized against him.

The film, narrated by actor John O’Hurley, is based on the research of Geoff Shepard, a former deputy counsel on Nixon’s Watergate defense team. Shepard, who spent 27,000 hours reviewing documents, uncovered what he believes is proof of prosecutorial misconduct that led to the conviction of Nixon’s associates and ultimately forced the president’s resignation.

According to Shepard’s research, there were numerous secret meetings between the judge and the prosecutor without Nixon’s defense counsel present.

“It’s very hard to take a look again at a document that says, from a prosecutor – lead prosecutor – I met with the judge secretly. And no one else knew,” said the film’s director, George Bugatti, paraphrasing Shepard’s findings.

O’Hurley, known for his role in the sitcom “Seinfeld,” believes the documentary reveals Nixon was “railroaded” during the Watergate trial. He argues that Nixon’s only option was to resign as a result.

Bugatti further asserts that the events surrounding Nixon’s downfall represent the birth of “lawfare,” where the criminal justice system is weaponized to achieve political goals.

“What happened then is the birth of lawfare. It’s the weaponization of the criminal justice system and how they use that weapon to drive a president from office. They used it to avoid Nixon’s landslide reelection, which essentially is the will of the people,” stated Bugatti.

The film’s trailer is available at WatergateSecrets.com, with the full documentary set to premiere on major streaming platforms in the coming weeks.

Both O’Hurley and Bugatti hope this film will cause viewers to reconsider the Watergate narrative and re-evaluate Nixon’s presidency beyond the scandal. They urge viewers to consider Nixon’s accomplishments, such as creating OSHA and Title IX, and ending the Vietnam War.

“I hope they take a look at this presidency as a whole,” said Bugatti. “You take a look at the accomplishments that he had…you know, take a look at his presidency and his legacy and not have the only thing that you think of when you think of Richard Nixon, as a caricature.”
