**New Delhi, India:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a visit to the United States from September 21st, during which he will engage in extensive discussions on strengthening India-US relations and furthering cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
The visit will see PM Modi participating in the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit, scheduled for September 24th. He will also address a gathering of the Indian diaspora in New York on September 22nd.
On September 23rd, PM Modi will address the UN General Assembly on the theme of “Future of the Summit.”
While the Foreign Secretary, Vikrom Misri, declined to confirm a potential meeting between PM Modi and US President Joe Biden, he clarified that the exact schedule and meetings are still under finalization.
“We are looking at all aspects of the visit, the time available, and the potential engagements,” Misri said. He further explained that the Quad Summit will be a farewell event for President Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida, who will be completing their respective terms this year.
Following the US’ request to host this year’s Quad Summit, India has agreed to host the next Quad Summit in 2025.
Regarding the possibility of discussing the Khalistan issue during the visit, the Foreign Secretary maintained that all bilateral issues will be addressed, but declined to provide specifics.
The upcoming visit is expected to be a significant opportunity for both India and the United States to reaffirm their strategic partnership and work collaboratively towards shared goals in the Indo-Pacific region.
