Thu Sep 19 06:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Trump and Melania Call for Transparency After FBI Raid and Assassination Attempt

Former President Donald Trump and his wife Melania have renewed calls for transparency surrounding the FBI’s raid on their Mar-a-Lago estate and a past assassination attempt on Donald.

Trump, in a video posted to X (formerly Twitter), condemned the raid, asserting that the FBI invaded his privacy and that the incident serves as a warning to all Americans about the potential for government overreach. The video highlighted the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution, which protects against unreasonable searches and seizures.

Melania, in a separate post, expressed her feeling of violation after agents searched her bedroom during the raid, and also expressed concern about the lack of transparency surrounding the assassination attempt on her husband in 2022.

The FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago stemmed from an investigation into the handling of classified documents after Trump left office. The Department of Justice, following an investigation by the House Oversight Committee, issued a subpoena for remaining documents at Mar-a-Lago. Trump was subsequently charged with 40 federal crimes related to his alleged mishandling of classified materials.

Trump has consistently maintained his innocence, calling the investigation a “political witch hunt.” A federal judge dismissed the charges in July, but the prosecution has appealed the ruling.

Regarding the assassination attempt, Melania questioned why the shooter was not arrested before the event and called for a full investigation to uncover the truth.

These developments highlight the ongoing tension between Trump and the current administration, fueled by the FBI raid and unresolved questions surrounding the assassination attempt.
