Thu Sep 19 22:48:58 UTC 2024: ## PM Modi rallies for BJP in Kashmir, accuses regional parties of instability

**Srinagar, September 19, 2024:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a massive rally in Srinagar on Thursday, urging voters to support the BJP in the second phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. He highlighted the significant increase in voter turnout during the first phase, a testament to the “festival of democracy” unfolding in the region.

Modi lauded the peaceful atmosphere and record voter participation, contrasting it with the previous era marked by instability, terrorism, and suppression of democratic rights. He credited the BJP’s efforts for creating a conducive environment for development and peace in Kashmir.

Focusing on the restoration of statehood, Modi reiterated the BJP’s commitment to fulfilling its promise made in Parliament. He criticized the Congress, National Conference (NC), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for perpetuating fear and disruption in Kashmir, hindering its progress and exploiting its people for their political gains.

The PM accused these parties of “playing the Pakistan game” and accused them of prioritizing their own political interests over the well-being of the people. He further blamed the NC and PDP for the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, claiming they shielded those responsible for targeting the minority community.

Modi emphasized the transformative changes Kashmir has witnessed under his leadership, including increased tourism, improved infrastructure, and a more inclusive environment for celebrating diverse festivals. He outlined the BJP’s vision for a prosperous and terror-free Kashmir, promising continued development initiatives, job creation, and the empowerment of youth.

He pledged to continue working towards bridging the gap between Delhi and the people of Kashmir, emphasizing the importance of restoring faith in democracy and ensuring a brighter future for the region.

In a separate rally in Katra, PM Modi condemned the Congress, PDP, and NC for aligning with Pakistan’s agenda in J&K, claiming that they are actively working against the interests of the people. He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to permanently abolish Articles 370 and 35A, emphasizing that no power can reverse this decision while the BJP remains in power.
