**Legazpi City, Philippines** – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Bicol recently held a vibrant competition, the “Search for FishCon Ambassador and Ambassadress,” celebrating the talents and advocacy of its employees. The event, held on September 16, 2024 at the regional office, was a showcase of beauty, grace, and unwavering commitment to fish conservation and sustainable aquatic resource management.

Carlos Gonzales from RFTFCD/NSAP emerged as the FishCon Ambassador 2024, while Cristine Balingbing from FPSSD was crowned Ambassadress. Both winners impressed the judges with their compelling advocacy for sustainable fisheries and their vision for a balanced ecosystem.

The competition also recognized outstanding performances from other participants. Fhaisal Reyes and Jessabelle B. Capistrano took the first runner-up titles, followed by Alex Arena and Cindy Bonilla as second runners-up. Jose Mari delos Santos and Maricar Manimtim secured the third runner-up spots.

Beyond the main titles, the event acknowledged individual talents. Carlos Gonzales and Maricar Manimtim were awarded Best in FishCon Attire for their creative marine-inspired outfits. Jessabelle B. Capistrano and Carlos Gonzales were named Best in Production, while Jessabelle B. Capistrano and Fhaisal Reyes received the Facecard award for their charisma and strong on-camera presence.
