**Chennai:** India took a commanding lead in the first Test against Bangladesh on Day 2 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After bowling Bangladesh out for a paltry 149, India went into their second innings with a 227-run lead.

A fiery spell by Jasprit Bumrah (4 wickets) proved crucial in dismantling the Bangladesh batting order. Mohammed Siraj (2 wickets), Ravindra Jadeja (2 wickets), and Akash Deep (2 wickets) also contributed significantly to the bowling effort. Shakib Al Hasan was the only Bangladesh batsman to offer resistance with a score of 32 runs.

As of now, India’s second innings is underway with Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill both looking settled at the crease. India appears to be in a strong position to secure a victory in the first Test.
