Fri Sep 20 08:11:19 UTC 2024: ## India Dominates Day 1 of 1st Test Against Bangladesh, Aswin & Jadeja Shine

**Chennai, India:** India put on a commanding performance on the first day of the first Test against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, amassing a formidable total of 376 runs before wrapping up the day with three quick wickets to leave Bangladesh struggling at 26/3.

The Indian innings was initially shaky, losing early wickets. However, a crucial 195-run partnership between Ravichandran Aswin and Ravindra Jadeja turned the tide. Aswin, celebrating his return to Test cricket after a long injury layoff, scored his sixth Test century, finishing on 113 runs. Jadeja fell short of his century, ending his innings on 86 runs.

The duo’s strong batting performance not only provided India with a healthy lead but also proved crucial in putting pressure on the Bangladesh side. In response, Bangladesh’s top order crumbled under the pressure, losing their first three wickets within the first nine overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Akashdeep, who took two wickets each, proved to be the key destroyers for India.

The Bangladesh batsmen faced a tough challenge against the Indian pace and spin duo, failing to find any rhythm against the relentless bowling attack. They will need a strong comeback in the second innings if they want to stay in the game.
