**NEW YORK, Sept. 19, 2024** – Great American Media announced that filming for the second season of its hit series, “When Hope Calls,” has commenced, with a premiere date set for January 2025 on Great American Family and streaming on Pure Flix. The sequel to the beloved “When Calls the Heart” spinoff, inspired by the works of Janette Oke, will continue to follow the lives of the residents of Brookfield, a frontier town in 1916.

Season two boasts a returning cast, including Cindy Busby as Nora, Christopher Russell as Constable Michael, Nick Bateman as Wyatt, Wendy Crewson as Tess Stewart, Hanneke Talbot as Maggie Parsons, Morgan Kohan as Lillian Walsh, and Ryan-James (RJ) Hatanaka as Mountie Gabriel. The season will feature eight episodes, focusing on the town’s orphanage and the challenges its residents face while building a hopeful community.

“We were lucky to realize early on that Janette Oke’s faith-filled characters had such rich backgrounds that we could create entire entertainment universes around them,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO of Great American Media.

The season will pay homage to the romance between Lillian and Mountie Gabriel while introducing new characters who are central to the orphanage, the surrounding farms and ranches, and the town itself. A new Constable, Mountie Michael (Russell), will also be introduced.

“When Hope Calls” is executive produced by Brad Krevoy, Cara Russell, Lorenzo Nardini, and Amy Krell, and directed by Bradley Walsh. The series is written by showrunner Alfonso Moreno.
