Germany’s state-owned energy company, SEFE (Securing Energy for Europe), has secured a natural gas supply deal with ConocoPhillips, a major step in its efforts to diversify its energy sources and reduce reliance on Russia.
SEFE, formed after the nationalization of Gazprom’s German assets following the 2022 Ukraine invasion, has been actively seeking alternative suppliers. This deal follows a string of agreements with other international companies, including Novatek, Equinor, and Adnoc.
