Thu Sep 19 16:07:00 UTC 2024: ## First Gen Awards LNG Supply Contract to Shell Eastern

**Batangas, Philippines –** First Gen Corporation, a leading power producer in the Philippines, has awarded a contract for the supply of one liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo to Shell Eastern LNG. The LNG will be used to fuel First Gen’s four gas-fired power plants in the First Gen Clean Energy Complex in Batangas, which have a combined capacity of 2,017 megawatts (MW).

This is the seventh LNG supply contract awarded by First Gen, following previous agreements with Trafigura, TotalEnergies Gas and Power Asia Private Ltd., and CNOCC Gas and Power Trading & Marketing Ltd. The LNG cargo is expected to arrive between October 14 and 18, delivered on a Delivered Ex-Ship (DES) basis at Subic Bay Freeport in Zambales.

First Gen Chairman Federico Lopez stated that the company is continuously seeking reliable sources of LNG to ensure the efficient operation of its power plants. This latest contract with Shell Eastern LNG further strengthens First Gen’s commitment to providing clean energy solutions for the Philippines.
