Nottingham, England – England posted a challenging 315-run target in the first One Day International against Australia at Trent Bridge, thanks to impressive knocks from Ben Duckett (95 off 91 balls) and Will Jacks (62 off 56 balls).
While England’s batting flourished, it was Australian all-rounder Marnus Labuschagne who emerged as the star bowler, taking three wickets for 39 runs. Leg-spinner Adam Zampa also chipped in with a three-wicket haul.
The Australian bowling attack, however, couldn’t completely derail England’s innings, as the home side was eventually bowled out in 49.4 overs.
The chase is now on for Australia as they look to level the series in the upcoming matches.
