Kerstin Emhoff, film producer and ex-wife of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, has come to the defense of Vice President Kamala Harris after Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders criticized Harris for not having biological children.
During a campaign event for Donald Trump on Tuesday, Sanders stated, “My kids keep me humble. Unfortunately, Kamala Harris doesn’t have anything keeping her humble.” Sanders also mispronounced Harris’ first name.
Emhoff responded on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Cole and Ella keep us inspired to make the world a better place. I do it through storytelling. Kamala Harris has spent her entire career working for the people, ALL families. That keeps you pretty humble.”
Emhoff, mother to Cole and Ella with Doug Emhoff, has a close relationship with Harris and has openly supported Harris’ presidential bid. Her children refer to Harris as “Momala,” demonstrating their strong bond.
