**Anantpur, India:** The third round of the Duleep Trophy saw a display of power hitting on Thursday, with centuries from Shashwat Rawat and Sanju Samson marking the day’s play.
In the match between India A and India C, India C, after winning the toss, restricted India A to a shaky 36/5 early on. However, a crucial 87-run stand between Rawat and Shams Mulani helped India A recover. Rawat went on to score a magnificent century, reaching his 50 in 119 balls and his hundred in 188 balls. He finished the day unbeaten on 105, guiding India A to a respectable 224/7. Anshul Kambhoj (3/40) was the standout bowler for India C.
In the other match, India B, after electing to field first, found themselves on the back foot as India D openers Devdutt Padikkal and Srikar Bharat put on a strong 105-run partnership. After their dismissals, Ricky Bhui and Nishant Sindhu added another crucial partnership, taking India D to 216/5. However, it was Sanju Samson who stole the show with a blistering 89 off 83 balls, smashing 10 fours and three sixes. He and Saransh Jain added a quickfire 90 runs to take India D to 306/5 at the end of the day. Rahul Chahar was the pick of the bowlers for India B with 3/60.
The Duleep Trophy continues on Friday with both matches resuming at Anantpur.
