**SHAH ALAM** – The CEO of Global Ikhwan Services and Business (GISB) and his wife were among 19 individuals remanded for seven days on Thursday, September 19th, in connection with ongoing investigations into alleged child abuse and exploitation at homes linked to the organization. The individuals, aged between 25 and 65, were arrested during a coordinated police operation at four residential units in Kuala Lumpur.
The 19 individuals, believed to be senior leaders of GISB, were brought to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Court Complex for the remand application. Police confirmed that the arrests were made following a raid on 20 charitable homes linked to GISB Holdings last week.
The raid, which led to the rescue of 402 children and teenagers, was conducted after police received reports of alleged abuse and exploitation at the homes. Health screenings conducted on the rescued children revealed evidence of physical and emotional abuse, and authorities suspect they were forced to sell goods for the organization.
The King of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim, had previously called for a swift and thorough investigation into the allegations of criminal misconduct and child abuse linked to GISB.
This arrest follows a string of arrests related to the GISB investigation, including the detention of five individuals, allegedly including the son of a GISB leader, at the Malaysia-Thailand border last week.
The investigation into GISB is ongoing and involves multiple agencies, including the Criminal Investigation Department, the D8 Division of Bukit Aman, and the Special Integrated Investigation Team.
