Fri Sep 20 10:20:31 UTC 2024: ## Modi Slams Congress in Wardha, Accuses Party of Corruption and Anti-India Agenda
**WARDHA, MAHARASHTRA:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party during a visit to Wardha on Friday, accusing the party of corruption, anti-India sentiment, and neglecting the Vishwakarma community.
Addressing a public meeting marking the completion of one year of the PM Vishwakarma scheme, Modi claimed that the Congress, under the influence of the “tukde tukde gang” and “urban Naxals,” had lost its soul of patriotism. He accused the party of spreading hatred and having an anti-India agenda, pointing to remarks made by Congress leaders abroad.
Modi specifically targeted the Congress’s alleged corruption, referring to the party’s “shahi parivar” (royal family), a thinly veiled jab at the Gandhis. He accused the party of disrespecting Ganpati puja and cited incidents in Karnataka where Ganesha idols were allegedly mistreated.
Turning his attention to upcoming state assembly elections, Modi urged Maharashtra residents to be wary of Congress’s duplicity. He claimed the Congress used farmers for political gain and corruption, and had failed to fulfill its promises in Telangana.
Highlighting the PM Vishwakarma scheme, Modi said it was crucial for empowering SC, ST, and OBC communities, whom he alleged were neglected by previous Congress governments. He stressed his government’s commitment to reviving India’s traditional skills and taking the textile industry to a global level.
Modi also inaugurated the Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centre scheme and Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme in Maharashtra, and laid the foundation stone for a PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park at Amravati.
The PM’s visit to Wardha comes amidst heightened political activity in Maharashtra ahead of the state elections later this year. Modi’s speech served as a strong message to voters and a clear indication of the BJP’s strategy to capitalize on anti-Congress sentiment in the state.
