**San Francisco, CA** – Apple has released the fourth developer beta of iOS 18.1, bringing a host of new features and bug fixes to iPhone users. The update, available now for download, focuses on enhancing the functionality of Siri and introducing new AI-powered tools.
One key highlight is the **enhanced Type to Siri feature**, now suggesting words as users type. This addition builds on the previously introduced feature allowing users to interact with Siri via typing instead of voice commands.
The update also reportedly brings **call recording and transcription functionality** to older iPhone models, a feature initially limited to the iPhone 15 Pro. Users can trigger recording by tapping a new icon, and the recordings are saved along with their transcriptions in the Notes app.
Beyond Siri improvements, the update further expands upon Apple’s **AI suite, Apple Intelligence**. This suite includes a **Clean Up tool**, leveraging AI to remove unwanted elements from images, and **writing tools** to change text tonality, summarise content, or generate lists. The update also enables **web page summarization** on Safari when the reader view is activated.
Apple states that the final version of iOS 18.1 will be released next month, bringing these features and others previewed at WWDC 2024 to the public.
