Tanzanian music icon Ali Kiba has declared a week-long celebration of Bongo music, ordering his media outlets, Crown FM and Crown TV, to play only Bongo tracks.
The announcement was made by Tanzanian radio presenter Mwijaku, who revealed Kiba’s directive while welcoming Kenyan influencer Casypool to Tanzania. Mwijaku explained that Kiba’s decision aimed to promote and elevate Bongo music, showcasing its rich culture and vibrant sounds.
This move comes shortly after Kiba marked two decades in the music industry with the grand launch of Crown Media, his own media house. The star-studded event, which was attended by former president Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete and Minister of Information Nape Moses Nnauye, highlighted Kiba’s significant contribution to the Tanzanian music industry.
The week-long Bongo celebration is expected to generate excitement among music lovers, further solidifying the genre’s popularity both locally and internationally.
