**Mumbai, India:** Anant Ambani, son of Asia’s richest family, the Ambanis, has gifted a stunning gold crown worth Rs 15 crore to the Lalbaugcha Raja, Mumbai’s oldest and most famous Lord Ganesh pandal, for this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
The 20 kilogram crown, unveiled on the first day of the festival (September 5th), took two months to craft and is a testament to Ambani’s devotion. This marks the 15th year that Anant Ambani has actively participated in the festivities, recently assuming the role of executive advisor to the Lalbaugcha Raja committee.
The gold crown, donated through the Reliance Foundation, was a highlight of the festival and drew significant attention. The celebrations culminated with the immersion of the Lalbaugcha Raja idol on September 17th, where a grand procession took place through the streets of Mumbai, ending at Girgaon Chowpatty beach. The crown was dismantled piece by piece after the immersion, with its future whereabouts currently unknown.
While the crown’s location is uncertain, it’s likely the valuable gift will be kept by the Lalbaugcha Raja committee for future use, contributing to the upkeep of their functions until the next Ganesh Chaturthi arrives.
