**KATHMANDU, September 18, 2024** – The Weather Forecast Division has reported that monsoon winds, combined with the partial influence of a low-pressure system near India’s Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, are affecting weather patterns across Nepal.

Currently, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing partly to mostly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country enjoys partly cloudy to mostly clear skies.

The Division predicts that hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to mainly clear conditions.

Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is possible in some hilly areas, including Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. The Terai region in Lumbini Province may also experience storms.

Tonight, hilly areas including Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces are expected to have partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to mainly clear skies. Light to moderate rain is possible in a few locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali regions.

Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with thunder is likely in some hilly areas, including Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in a few other locations. The Division anticipates storms in parts of Lumbini and the Terai region of Sudurpaschim Province.
