Wed Sep 18 14:14:00 UTC 2024: ## U.S. State Department Issues Travel Warning for Denmark Due to Terrorism Risk

**WASHINGTON** – The U.S. State Department has issued a travel warning for Denmark, urging travelers to exercise increased caution due to the potential for terrorist attacks. This warning, issued on Tuesday, September 17th, follows similar advisories for Italy and Germany issued in recent weeks.

The advisory for Denmark, classified as a Level Two warning, cautions travelers about potential attacks targeting tourist locations, transportation hubs, shopping malls, government facilities, hotels, and other public areas. The warning also extends to Greenland and the Faroe Islands, both of which are part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

The State Department emphasizes that terrorists may carry out attacks with little or no warning. This recent warning comes after a similar Level Two advisory was issued for Italy on September 12th, also citing the potential for terrorist attacks.

This marks the second and third European travel warning issued by the State Department since May, when a warning regarding terrorist attacks in Germany was released.

The State Department recommends travelers to European countries take the following precautions:

* Stay informed of local security conditions and any updates from the U.S. Embassy.
* Be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity to local authorities.
* Maintain a low profile and avoid drawing attention to yourself.
* Review personal security measures and be prepared for potential emergencies.

Travelers are encouraged to follow the State Department on Facebook and Twitter for any updates or changes in travel advisories.
