Wed Sep 18 02:45:03 UTC 2024: ## Woman’s Quick Thinking Leads to Arrest After Apparent Assassination Attempt on Trump

**Flint, Michigan** – Former President Donald Trump has praised a quick-thinking woman who helped authorities apprehend a suspect in an apparent assassination attempt against him on Sunday.

The incident occurred at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump was playing a round of golf. Secret Service agents noticed a rifle sticking through the shrubbery and fired shots in the direction of the apparent sniper’s nest. The suspect, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, dropped his weapon and fled in a black Nissan SUV.

According to Trump, a woman driving nearby witnessed the suspect running to his car and became suspicious. She followed him, took pictures of his license plate, and quickly alerted authorities. Trump described her actions as “amazing,” calling her a “miracle.”

“She followed him, it wasn’t very far, and parked the car behind his car and started taking pictures of his licence plate,” Trump said at a town hall event in Flint, Michigan. “Seriously, who would do that?”

Routh was apprehended less than an hour later on I-95. He is currently facing charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obstructed serial number. Further charges are possible.

The incident marks the second apparent assassination attempt targeting Trump in recent months. Police are currently investigating the case of Joseph Couch, who allegedly shot and wounded five people earlier this month, and are believed to have found his remains.

Trump’s account of the attempted attack and the woman’s actions has sparked widespread attention, highlighting the ongoing security concerns surrounding the former president and his potential return to the White House.
