**Bangkok, Thailand** – Asia has emerged as the leading region in the prestigious World’s 50 Best Hotels list, claiming a dominant 19 spots out of the 50. Europe follows closely with 13 hotels, while North America, Africa, Oceania, and South America secure 9, 4, 4, and 1 spots respectively.
This second edition of the list, launched by William Reed, celebrates excellence in the hospitality sector, focusing on “stories of vision, hard work and unwavering commitment to excellence,” according to managing director Tim Brooke-Webb. The list is compiled by a 600-strong anonymous voting panel, The Academy, consisting of seasoned luxury travelers, journalists, and hoteliers.
Bangkok boasts four entries in the list, with **Capella Bangkok** making its debut at number 33. Other notable entries from the city include Mandarin Oriental Bangkok (No. 12), Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River (No. 14), and The Siam (No. 26).
The list features a diverse range of hotels from 37 destinations, including 15 new entries from territories like Oman, French Polynesia, and Fiji. Japan shines with two top entries: Aman Tokyo (No. 7) and Park Hyatt Kyoto (No. 27). Sri Lanka and Indonesia are represented by Amangalla (No. 39) and Bali’s Desa Potato Head (No. 21).
Several special awards were also presented. Royal Mansour in Marrakech won the Gin Art of Hospitality Award, The Peninsula Istanbul received the American Express Travel One to Watch award, and Bvlgari Tokyo was named the Nikka Best New Hotel.
