Wed Sep 18 14:53:00 UTC 2024: ## Hermès Unveils New Fragrance, Barénia, Inspired by Iconic Leather

Hermès has launched its first-ever chypre fragrance, Barénia, named after the leather used for its coveted handbags, saddles, and accessories. The scent, a blend of patchouli, butterfly lily, oakwood, and miracle berry, is described as elegant, sensual, and boasting “the power of attraction.”

Perfumer Christine Nagel, known for her work on numerous designer fragrances, spent eight years developing the scent, saying she felt a strong connection to it from the beginning.

Barénia is presented in a sleek bottle designed by Philip Mouquet, featuring a nod to the Hermès Collier de Chien bracelet with its signature Medor studs. The fragrance is available in three sizes, ranging from $105 to $170, along with a rich body cream and luxurious bar soap.

Cosmopolitan’s Beauty Editor at Large, Julee Wilson, describes Barénia as embodying “abundance, ease, impeccable style, and unf*ckwithable confidence,” making it a must-have addition to any fragrance collection.
