Thu Sep 19 10:29:49 UTC 2024: ## “Stree 2” Continues to Haunt Box Office, Crosses Rs 562 Crore Mark

**Mumbai, September 19:** The horror-comedy “Stree 2” continues to dominate the Indian box office, exceeding expectations and becoming a bonafide blockbuster. On its fifth Wednesday (September 18), the film grossed an impressive Rs 2 crore, bringing its total earnings to nearly Rs 562 crore.

The film, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has captivated audiences across the nation, performing strongly in both urban and rural centers. “Stree 2” follows the story of Sarkata, a headless monster, who abducts women in Chanderi to teach them a lesson, setting the stage for the return of the unnamed protagonist and her unique abilities.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is a sequel to the 2018 hit “Stree” and part of a growing horror-comedy universe in Bollywood, alongside films like “Bhediya” and “Munjya.” The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and features cameos by Akshay Kumar, Tamannaah, and Varun Dhawan.

This success marks a significant comeback for Shraddha Kapoor, following the release of “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” earlier this year. For Rajkummar Rao, “Stree 2” marks a positive turn after the underperformance of his recent sports drama, “Mr and Mrs Mahi.”

“Stree 2” has proven to be a formidable force at the box office, holding its own against other releases, and continuing to draw audiences to theaters over a month after its release.
