Wed Sep 18 00:28:00 UTC 2024: ## Amell Claims He Was “C**k-Blocked” From NCIS Prequel Role
Actor Stephen Amell, known for his role in “Arrow,” has revealed that he was passed over for a role in the upcoming “NCIS” prequel series, “NCIS: Origins.” Amell auditioned for the part of a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, the iconic character played by Mark Harmon in the original “NCIS” series. He felt the audition went exceptionally well, even receiving positive feedback from producers.
However, Amell was abruptly told the role was no longer available. He expressed frustration, believing someone had “c**k-blocked” him from the opportunity. The role ultimately went to Austin Stowell from “Catch-22.”
This setback came just as Amell was preparing for another audition for the “Suits” spinoff, “Suits: LA.” He described feeling emotionally drained, leading to a breakdown in his car on the way to the audition. Despite this, he ultimately landed the role in “Suits: LA,” which he sees as a sign that things worked out for the best.
“NCIS: Origins” is set to premiere on October 14th on CBS, offering a more raw and personal look at the early days of the iconic characters. While Amell may not be starring in the prequel, “NCIS” fans can still look forward to the new series.
