**ROME** – In a surprising move, AS Roma has fired coach Daniele De Rossi, just months after extending his contract through 2026-27. The decision comes after a disappointing start to the Serie A season, with Roma failing to win any of their first four matches.
De Rossi, a former Roma captain and fan favorite, was appointed in January to replace Jose Mourinho. He impressed during the second half of last season, transforming the team into a more attacking unit. However, this season has seen Roma struggle offensively, scoring only two goals in four games.
