Cape Town’s culinary scene is constantly evolving, and the latest innovation is a unique pairing of ice cream and oysters. Shuck + Scoop, the brainchild of Michelin-starred chef Rikku Ó’Donnchü, is challenging traditional dessert expectations with its savoury ice cream flavours.

Forget vanilla and chocolate – Shuck + Scoop offers a menu of unexpected delights, including parmesan and cauliflower ice cream, olive oil and oscietra caviar, and passionfruit sorbet with sea fennel and radish. Each flavour is served on a fresh oyster shell, garnished with edible flowers and colourful crumbles.

The restaurant itself is as unique as its menu. Tucked inside the Wiggle Car Hire showroom on Bree Street, Shuck + Scoop offers a luxurious ambiance with velvet ropes, sculptures, art, and Persian rugs. Guests can relax on plush couches, sip on creative cocktails, and admire the luxury cars surrounding them.

Shuck + Scoop is open Tuesday to Saturday from 12 pm to 9 pm. Oysters start at R85 each, while wine is available from R120 per glass and cocktails from R170.
