Wed Sep 18 00:35:03 UTC 2024: ## Ola Electric Faces Backlash Amidst Mounting Customer Complaints and Service Delays

**New Delhi:** Ola Electric, the leading electric scooter manufacturer in India, is facing a growing crisis as customer complaints pile up and service delays leave customers frustrated. The company has been receiving nearly 80,000 complaints every month, according to sources, with some days seeing up to 6,000-7,000 complaints, overwhelming service centers and leading to long wait times for repairs.

The situation is particularly dire for customers who subscribed to Ola Care Plus, a paid service plan that promises home pick-up and drop service appointments. Despite paying for the premium service, many customers report waiting 30-45 days for repairs, with some even experiencing delays of three months.

Ola Electric has responded by forming a new service team, drawing employees from product and operations divisions. However, the company has yet to fully address the widespread dissatisfaction, and reports of overcrowded service centers and overwhelmed staff persist.

The crisis comes alongside a decline in Ola Electric’s sales, with August witnessing its worst monthly volumes this year. Competitors Bajaj Auto Ltd and TVS Motor Company Ltd have maintained their market share in the electric two-wheeler segment.

Multiple customers have taken to social media to voice their frustrations, with some even filing complaints with the National Consumer Forum.

Ola Electric’s service issues have also led to extreme cases, including a customer setting fire to a company dealership in Karnataka and local residents referring to an Ola Electric service center in New Delhi as a “graveyard of scooters” due to the number of broken-down vehicles awaiting repair.

Despite the challenges, analysts remain optimistic about Ola Electric’s long-term prospects, citing its market leadership and vertical integration efforts. However, the company must urgently address the service issues to regain customer trust and maintain its position in the rapidly growing electric two-wheeler market.
