**SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS)** – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in west-central Shreveport on Saturday afternoon. The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Dale James Whitenack, 59, of Greenwood.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Hollywood Avenue. Whitenack was riding westbound when his motorcycle veered off the road, striking a caution sign and a tree. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital where he died at 3:52 p.m.
An autopsy has been ordered to determine the official cause of death. The crash remains under investigation.
