**Kolkata, India:** The defending Indian Super League champions, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, were held to a goalless draw by Ravshan Kulob of Tajikistan in their opening Group A match of the AFC Champions League 2 on Wednesday. The match, played at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata, saw both teams create chances but ultimately fail to find the back of the net.

Mohun Bagan, who made five changes to their starting lineup, struggled to gain control of the match early on. The first real test for the goalkeepers came in the 27th minute when Vishal Kaith made a crucial save to deny Ravshan Kulob the lead.

The second half saw Ravshan Kulob putting pressure on the home side, but Anirudh Thapa made a crucial block to prevent a goal. Mohun Bagan slowly grew into the game, with Jason Cummings coming close to scoring in the 74th minute but his chipped attempt was saved.

The Mariners had two more clear-cut chances in the dying minutes. Liston Colaco missed the target in the 88th minute, and Dimitri Petratos’ effort was saved in stoppage time. Ultimately, both teams had to settle for a point each.

Mohun Bagan will now travel to face Tractor SC in their next AFC Champions League 2 match. They will then return to ISL action with a home game against NorthEast United FC on Monday.
