Wed Sep 18 02:32:17 UTC 2024: ## PM Modi Transfers ₹2,044 Crore for Housing Scheme in Chhattisgarh

**Raipur, November 1, 2023** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday virtually released the first instalment of ₹2,044 crore to 5.11 lakh beneficiaries in Chhattisgarh for the construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G). The PM addressed the beneficiaries via video link from Bhubaneswar during the ‘Mor Awas – Mor Adhikar’ (My house, my right) event in Raipur.

The PM emphasized his government’s commitment to bringing prosperity to the lives of the poor and weaker sections of society. He highlighted the success achieved in the last 10 years in realizing this goal.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai lauded the scheme and reiterated the state government’s commitment to its implementation. He praised the PM, stating that the scheme fulfils the basic need of “roti, kapda, and makaan” (food, clothing, and shelter) for millions of Indians. Sai also announced that the state cabinet had sanctioned 18 lakh houses under the PMAY since he assumed office.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma highlighted the progress of the scheme, stating that around 25,000 new houses are being built every month in the state. He also mentioned the construction of 24,000 houses under the PM JANMAN scheme.

The event marked the first instalment of the housing scheme funds being directly transferred into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The move is expected to benefit a large number of families in the state by aiding them in constructing their own houses.
