Thu Sep 19 05:47:00 UTC 2024: ## Lorry Driver Tests Positive for Methamphetamine After Deadly 10-Vehicle Pile-Up

**SEREMBAN:** A 38-year-old lorry driver has been remanded for two days after testing positive for methamphetamine in connection with a deadly 10-vehicle pile-up near Seremban. The crash, which occurred on Wednesday afternoon, resulted in one fatality and another person critically injured.

The accident happened along Jalan Seremban-Tampin near the Middle Ring Road intersection. The driver, who was travelling towards Seremban from Tampin, lost control of his quarry stone-laden lorry, causing it to overturn and crush a car, killing a 31-year-old man. A 48-year-old woman was also critically injured and admitted to the intensive care unit at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital.

Police are investigating the case under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Seremban police chief Asst Comm Mohamad Hatta Che Din urged anyone with information on the incident to contact Insp Fadzilah Mohd Zainuddin at 019 4611 794 or the nearest police station to assist in investigations.
