**ATLANTA -** Averil Johnson, 45, of Lawrenceville, has been indicted on 10 counts of felony Medicaid fraud and two counts of felony identity fraud, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr announced. Johnson, owner of National Healthcare Center LLC, is accused of submitting fraudulent claims for genetic testing services his company did not provide and then keeping the payments.
“Georgia’s Medicaid Program is meant to care for our most vulnerable, and those who seek to abuse it will be held accountable for their actions,” Carr stated in a press release. “We’re committed to putting a stop to Medicaid fraud in our state, and we will continue to protect taxpayer dollars no matter the amount.”
The investigation is ongoing and further details are expected to be released as the case progresses.
