Wed Sep 18 03:27:12 UTC 2024: ## Four Israeli Soldiers Killed in Gaza Fighting, Including First Female Combat Casualty

**Gaza City, October 26** – Four Israeli soldiers, including the first female soldier killed in combat in Gaza since the current conflict began, were killed in fighting in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as St.-Sgt. Agam Naim, 20, a paramedic serving in the 52nd Battalion; St.-Sgt. Dotan Shimon, 21; St.-Sgt. Amit Bakri, 21; and Capt. Daniel Mimon Toaff, 23. Shimon, Bakri, and Toaff were all members of the Givati Brigade’s Shaked Battalion.

In the same incident, an officer and two other soldiers were severely wounded, and two soldiers sustained moderate injuries. Additionally, an officer from the Givati Reconnaissance Unit was severely wounded by RPG fire during fighting in southern Gaza. All wounded soldiers were successfully evacuated and transported to a hospital.

Since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas War on October 7, 713 soldiers have been killed, including 346 since the start of ground operations on October 27.

President Isaac Herzog expressed his condolences, writing on X: “A very sad morning… Four flowers – a heroic paramedic and three brave fighters – have fallen, and their comrades were injured yesterday in the fierce battles in the Gaza Strip. I embrace their families and loved ones. May the memory of Naim, Bakri, Toaff, and Shimon be blessed and forever held in our hearts.”
