**Nallasopara, Maharashtra:** A local NGO in Maharashtra, Jeevan Anand Sanstha, successfully reunited two senior citizens with their families using Google search.
Mavjibhai Vaghri, 70, who suffers from a mental ailment, went missing from his home near Vadodara, Gujarat. He was found in Nallasopara, Palghar district, on September 14 and admitted to the Sanstha’s ashram. Using Google search, the NGO was able to contact local authorities in Vaghri’s hometown, leading to his reunion with his family the next day.
In a similar instance, the organization located the family of Padi Goma Bhukre, a 70-year-old tribal woman who had gone missing in Panvel, Navi Mumbai. Bhukre had mistakenly boarded a bus to Mumbai and was injured in an accident. After receiving treatment, she was sheltered at the Sanstha’s ashram. Using Google search, the NGO was able to contact the sarpanch of Bhukre’s village and inform her family, leading to a reunion.
Both individuals had been reported missing by their families, and their photos shared on WhatsApp aided in their identification. This heartwarming story highlights the power of technology in aiding humanitarian efforts.
