**Greeleyville, SC** – The Town of Greeleyville is one step closer to realizing its dream of a new pocket park thanks to a $5,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation.

The grant will support the Parker Pocket Park project, which aims to enhance the town’s overall ambiance and environment. The park will feature state-of-the-art passive and active recreation amenities, including a picnic area shed.

“Duke Energy proudly partners with our rural communities, supporting growth and development,” said Quinetta Buterbaugh, Duke Energy government and community relations manager. “Funding revitalization efforts in Greeleyville is the perfect opportunity to invest in the citizens and surrounding area of the town.”

Mayor Jesse Parker expressed gratitude for the grant, stating, “This grant will go a long way in helping us reach the amount needed for our pocket park. For years, Duke Energy has been a partner in several of our town projects and, again, we say thanks.”

Once completed, the park will be the third within Greeleyville’s town limits and is expected to stimulate economic activity, attract tourists, and provide a safe and inviting outdoor space for residents. The project has already received funding from the state delegation and South Carolina Parks, Recreation, and Tourism.
