
Wed Sep 18 17:26:00 UTC 2024: ## Government to Implement Report on Financial Cooperative Misuse
**Kathmandu, Nepal -** The Nepalese government has announced it will implement the recommendations of the Parliamentary Inquiry Special Committee on Misuse of Savings of Financial Cooperatives Institutions, 2081. The decision was made during Wednesday’s Council of Ministers meeting, according to Communications and Information Technology Minister Prithivi Subba Gurung.
The report, submitted to the House of Representatives on September 16th by committee chair Surya Bahadur Thapa, detailed findings of widespread misuse of savings within cooperative institutions. The government has now directed the Ministries of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Finance, and Home Affairs to enforce the report’s recommendations.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire had previously instructed the Parliament Secretariat to forward the report to the government for action.
In addition to implementing the findings of the inquiry, the cabinet also approved the current government’s common resolution and policy commitments.
