Wed Sep 18 02:13:00 UTC 2024: ## Taiwan Denies Involvement in Lebanon Pagers Explosions

**BEIRUT/TAIPEI** – A wave of simultaneous pager detonations across Lebanon on Tuesday left at least nine people dead and nearly 3,000 injured, including Hezbollah fighters and medics. While images of the destroyed pagers initially pointed towards Taiwanese company Gold Apollo as the manufacturer, the firm has denied any involvement.

Gold Apollo founder Hsu Ching-Kuang told reporters on Wednesday that the pagers used in the explosions were manufactured by a European company licensed to use the Taiwanese brand. The company’s pagers are known for their specific format and stickers, which were consistent with those seen in images of the destroyed devices analyzed by Reuters.

The cause of the explosions remains under investigation.
