**BEIJING, CHINA** – The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has released specifications for the highly anticipated Geely Galaxy Starship 7, confirming its plug-in hybrid powertrain. This new SUV, built on Geely’s GEA platform, will feature a 1.5-liter BHE15-BHF engine producing 110 horsepower, paired with an electric motor and a lithium-iron phosphate battery pack sourced from either Svolt or Sunwoda Electronic.

The Galaxy Starship 7 measures in at 4,740mm long, 1,905mm wide, and 1,685mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,755mm. Optional features include 18- or 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, and rear-facing radar and cameras.

While the production model is a five-seater, the earlier Galaxy Starship Concept showcased at Auto China 2024 boasted a 2-1-2 three-row seating layout. The Concept was also reported to feature next-generation NordThor PHEV powertrains, promising a total range exceeding 2,000 km.

The Galaxy Starship 7 will be positioned above the Galaxy E5 in the Chinese market and is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2024. The Galaxy E5, which forms the basis for the upcoming Proton eMas 7, will also be marketed globally as the Geely EX5 in countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Australia.
