Monterey, TN – Gabriel Paul Frizzell, a former Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation officer, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at his home. He was 42.

Frizzell, a Monterey resident, was born on February 10, 1982, in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Monterey High School, class of 2000, and a member of Columbia Hill Baptist Church.

A celebration of life service for Frizzell will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the Goff Funeral Home chapel. Officiating will be Chris Phipps, Rev. Don Russell, and Rev. Raymond Phillips. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of service.

Frizzell is survived by his wife of 18 years, Ashley Phipps Frizzell, and their children, Gabriel Cade Frizzell, Ava Claire Frizzell, and Eden Alivia Frizzell, all of Monterey. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Debbie and Greg Sells, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; grandmother, Ruby Colbert, of Albany, Kentucky; brother and sister-in-law, Tyler and Elizabeth Sells of Columbia, Tennessee; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chris and Sandy Phipps, of Monterey; brother-in-law, Christopher Phipps, of Cookeville, Tennessee; nephews, Aiden Phipps and Wilder Sells; and numerous friends and extended family.

In addition to his father, Dale Ray Frizzell, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Mae Offenbacker and Bob and Mary Sisco.
