**Maiduguri, Borno State** – The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nana Kashim Shettima, and wives of state governors have donated N500 million to support victims of the recent devastating floods in Maiduguri and its environs. The donation was announced during a condolence visit to Governor Babagana Zulum on Wednesday at Government House in Maiduguri.
Representing the First Lady, Nana Shettima expressed deep concern over the impact of the floods, describing it as “an act of God.” She conveyed the First Lady’s condolences to Governor Zulum and the people of Borno, stating, “Only God can compensate for their losses.”
The delegation, which included the wife of the Deputy Senate President and the wife of the Lagos State Governor, was received by Governor Zulum. They extended their sympathies, offering prayers for God’s intervention to prevent future occurrences of such devastating floods.
The delegation also visited the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai Al-amin Elkanemi, offering condolences for the flood damage to his palace.
The N500 million donation is expected to provide much-needed relief to those affected by the floods, which have caused significant damage and displacement in the Borno State capital.
