Wed Sep 18 18:22:00 UTC 2024: ## Joint US-Dominican Operation Nets Drug Ring Leaders

**SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic** – A coordinated operation between US and Dominican authorities has resulted in the arrest of nearly a dozen individuals suspected of being involved in a regional drug trafficking ring. The operation, which involved agents from the Dominican Republic’s Anti-Drug Agency, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and the U.S. Southern Command, took place early Wednesday morning.

The suspects, including alleged ring leaders Rafael Ynoa Santana and Isidoro Rotestan Clase, are accused of receiving drugs from South America in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, before shipping them to the United States and Europe. Officials believe the ring is responsible for the seizure of over two tons of drugs in the Dominican Republic.

It is unclear if the suspects have legal representation at this time. The joint operation highlights the ongoing efforts of both countries to combat transnational drug trafficking and disrupt criminal networks operating in the Caribbean region.
