Wed Sep 18 16:47:55 UTC 2024: ## Country Music Icon Dolly Parton Weighs In on Beyoncé’s CMA Snubs

Country music legend Dolly Parton has offered her perspective on Beyoncé’s lack of nominations for the Country Music Association Awards, despite the release of her debut country album, “Cowboy Carter”.

While Parton praised the album and acknowledged Beyoncé’s southern roots, she suggested that the CMA might have prioritized artists who have consistently contributed to the country music genre. She stated, “I don’t think it was a matter of shutting out…I think it was just more of what the country charts and the country artists were doing.”

Parton’s explanation, however, has sparked debate on social media, with some users pointing out that Post Malone, who also released a country album this year, received four CMA nominations.

The CMA awards are determined by 6,609 voting members within the country music industry. This year’s nominees include Morgan Wallen with seven nominations, Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton with five each, and Post Malone and Lainey Wilson with four each.

The 58th Annual CMA Awards will air live on November 20th on ABC.
