Aurora, CO – A dog died from smoke inhalation after a house fire on Tuesday night, according to Aurora Fire Rescue officials.
The fire occurred around 5:30 p.m. near East Quincy Avenue and South Reservoir Road, after a neighbor reported smoke coming from the home. Firefighters arrived to find smoke billowing from the front door and discovered a fire in the kitchen. Thankfully, no people were home at the time, but firefighters found a dog near the kitchen. They attempted CPR on the dog but were unable to revive it. A cat was also rescued from the home and appeared unharmed.
Investigators determined the fire was accidental. The incident displaced three people, who are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
