**Budapest, Hungary:** India’s men’s and women’s chess teams continued their impressive runs at the 45th Chess Olympiad, securing victories in the seventh round to remain unbeaten.
The men’s team faced a tough challenge against China, with the reigning world champion Ding Liren resting for the match. Despite this, India emerged victorious thanks to a crucial win by young star D Gukesh. Gukesh battled for over six hours against Wei Yi, eventually securing victory after over 70 moves.
The win proved vital as the other three matches ended in draws. R Praggnanandhaa played a quick draw against Yangyi Yu, while P Harikrishna pushed for a win before settling for a draw. Arjun Erigaisi, who had been on a winning streak, also drew his game against Bu Xiangzhi.
The women’s team also achieved a dominant win over Georgia. R Vaishali and Vantika Agrawal both secured victories, while Divya Deshmukh and D Harika played out draws. Vantika’s win was particularly impressive, as she played almost 20 moves with just a minute left on her clock to defeat Bella Khotenashvili.
With these victories, both the men’s and women’s teams remain unbeaten. The men will face Iran in the eighth round, while the women will take on Poland. India’s strong performance continues to impress as they aim to claim the coveted Olympiad titles.
