Wed Sep 18 17:59:00 UTC 2024: ## Brattleboro Museum & Art Center to Host 17th Annual Domino Toppling Extravaganza

**BRATTLEBORO, VT** – Get ready for a spectacular domino display! The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center (BMAC) is hosting its 17th annual Domino Toppling Extravaganza on October 6th at 5:30 PM. This event, recognized as the world’s longest-running domino event, promises an awe-inspiring spectacle of thousands of dominoes cascading in a captivating chain reaction.

The event, which will be held in the building next door to the museum (28 Vernon St.), will be livestreamed on Facebook for those who can’t attend in person.

This year, internationally renowned domino artist and YouTube star Lily Hevesh, dubbed the “queen” of domino art by Inc. Magazine, will lead the domino installation process alongside her team. The group will arrive on October 4th and begin constructing a unique domino masterpiece, with Hevesh emphasizing that no pre-planning is involved.

“For an artist, that’s really fulfilling,” Hevesh said. “We just start building and see what happens.”

Previous years have seen intricate creations ranging from a Barbie Dreamhouse to a Minecraft structure, all meticulously crafted with dominoes and toppled in a dramatic, synchronized display.

Admission to the event is free for children under 8 and $5 for everyone else. Advance purchase is recommended, as space is limited. Tickets can be purchased online at brattleboromuseum.org or by calling 802-257-0124, ext. 101. The livestream is free to watch.

The museum encourages attendees to arrive at 5 PM for the chance to win the opportunity to start the domino chain reaction by guessing the correct number of dominoes used in the build.

The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center, founded in 1972, presents a variety of contemporary art exhibits and public programs throughout the year. The museum is located in historic Union Station in downtown Brattleboro and is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 4 PM.
