Wed Sep 18 13:37:00 UTC 2024: ## Mobile Man Arrested for Stealing Electric Bike, Using Victim’s Debit Card
**Mobile, AL** – A 40-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly stealing an electric bike and using the owner’s debit card at a local Walmart.
According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded to the Walmart on Government Boulevard around 7:54 p.m. after a report of fraudulent debit card use. Upon arriving, they found a man inside the store still in possession of the victim’s debit cards.
Further investigation revealed the man had stolen the victim’s electric bike, along with the victim’s wallet, from a residence on Tudor Lane the previous day. The wallet was found in the bike’s basket.
The suspect, identified as Matthew Fitzgerald, was arrested and transported to Metro Jail. He faces charges related to theft and fraud.
