Wed Sep 18 16:14:00 UTC 2024: ## Benilde Dominates Perpetual Help in NCAA Blowout

**San Juan City** – The College of Saint Benilde (CSB) Blazers continued their hot start to the NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball tournament with a resounding 78-51 victory over the young University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Altas on Wednesday at the FilOil EcoOil Center.

This dominant win marks CSB’s fourth consecutive victory, their best start under veteran coach Charles Tiu. Meanwhile, Perpetual Help fell to 2-2 on the season.

The Blazers built a commanding 29-point lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Altas 32-19. Justin Sanchez led the charge with 13 points and 8 rebounds, while Winston Ynot and Gab Cometa contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.

“We give credit to our guys,” said Coach Tiu. “They had great energy in the first half. Maybe after we pulled away, the Altas had a hard time bouncing back. But I give credit to Perpetual. They are a young team, and Coach Olsen [Racela] is a great coach.”

CSB’s bench also played a crucial role, outscoring Perpetual’s bench 51-19.

Coach Tiu highlighted the strength of his team’s balanced offense, which features multiple scoring threats instead of relying on one star player. “I take that positively [having no star player],” he said. “We have more options. This time, any guy can score. It is good for us.”

Mark Gojo Cruz put up a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds for Perpetual Help, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Blazers’ powerful performance.
